Shower Base
Even though you can’t physically see it upon looking at your shower, the shower base is probably the most important part of it. This is a cement marter layer that is directly underneath your shower, and it helps your shower function correctly, in that it makes water go to the drain.
If your shower remodel requires us to reconstruct your shower base, then our experienced Professional Bathroom Contractors will literally take everything out and start from the bottom with the shower base, and work our way up to the other parts of the shower installation.
When it’s constructed correctly, the shower base should be slanted towards the drain, and whether you decide you want to get a shower pan or shower tile on the floor of the shower, your shower base will be in place and function as it’s supposed to.
Shower Pans
The shower pan sits directly above the shower base, and it functions sort of the same way in that it is designed to allow water to go to the drain. There are several different kinds of shower pans that we can install during your shower remodel in Fort Worth, and it all depends on your taste and preference.
For example, some homeowners may want to keep their bathroom tub style shower, so we will install a shower pan that’s in the shape of that type of shower area. If you’re not wanting us to install a bathroom tub style shower pan, then you will want the flat style.
These come in different shapes depending on the shower itself. For example, you may want a single threshold shower pan, a double threshold shower pan, or maybe one that’s neo angled. And, if you have someone in your household who will be using your new shower who has a disability, you may have a need for a shower pan that is ADA compliant.
Shower Tile
One of the biggest decisions that you’ll make for your shower remodel in Fort Worth will have to do with the type of shower tile you choose. The floor and the walls of your shower will be noticeable through the glass on sight, so you want to make sure that it’s color coordinated with the rest of the bathroom area.
Some folks like elegant rock tile on their bathroom shower walls, and it’s a great choice, especially when you match it up with what’s outside of the shower on the bathroom floor and bathroom walls. There are many choices to choose from when it comes to rock tile such as limestone tile, travertine tile, stone with glass tile, or you may want to incorporate granite tile into your shower plans.
Whatever type of tile that you choose for your shower floor, you should try to pick one that is slip resistant, such as small mosaic tile in the miniature rock form. If you’re not sure what all of your options are, feel free to ask our experienced Professional Bathroom Contractors for suggestions, because we’re always happy to help!
Shower Doors & Glass
During the time that we are getting the measurements of your bathroom shower and the rest of your bathroom area, we’ll be looking at how much space you have immediately outside of your shower. This is because we have to determine which will be the best type of shower door for you, because you want enough room outside of the shower for those shower doors & glass that swing outward.
If you do not have a lot of space, then we recommend you getting sliding shower doors. Still, other popular ones are not sliding, but are the hinged shower doors or fixed ones that open like regular doors in the house, by swinging outward.
The kind of shower doors & glass you choose will have a major effect on your shower remodel cost in Fort Worth, so you should give it some thought before making a solid decision.
Also, are you going to want clear shower glass or would you like it frosted or fogged? Lots of homeowners want something totally different than what they had before in their shower, and we can do a wonderful installation of either kind depending on what you want your privacy level to be.
Shower Seating & Benches
Many homeowners who didn’t have shower seating & benches before in their old shower will request it when we do their shower remodel in Fort Worth. But many of them think that their shower isn’t big enough for this type of addition. How wrong they are!
There are so many options if your shower has limited space. For example, you could get shower seating that folds upward onto the wall when it’s not in use. Or, you could get corner shower seating that takes up under two feet of space but gives you a place to sit or put down items (like shampoo bottles and other things) when you need to.
Shower Support Rails
Installing shower support rails shouldn’t be based on whether or not you have a handicapped or elderly person in the house, because everyone will get great use out of them. They are easy to coordinate with colors in your shower and bathroom area, and are very reasonably priced, just like the rest of your shower appliances.
Shower Appliances
Your shower appliances include things like your shower knobs, your faucet, and your shower head. And, you’ll want to match them up with other things in the shower area such as the shower support rails. In fact, many times these items come in sets all packaged together, so all you really have to do is color coordinate them the way you want to!
Shower Remodel Cost
Affordable pricing and customer satisfaction is always our top priority, and nothing makes a homeowner happier when we do their shower remodel in Fort Worth than coming up with a shower remodel cost that is within their budget. We will do all we can to help you find items that you can afford that look wonderful within your bathroom setting, and follow that with a professional installation of them that you’ll be happy with for years to come.
